Enrique Liberman Co-Chaired the New York State Bar Association International Section’s 2013 “Global Law Week”

Liberman Canna LLP partner, Enrique Liberman, co-chaired the 2013 NYSBA International Section’s 2013 “Global Law Week” — a series of events organized by NYSBA International and held at leading New York City firms and other legal institutions.  The week is designed as a festival and open house of the New York international bar featuring a variety of programs held around the city.  The annual event was held from May 14-17, 2013 in New York City.

Highlights of the week include:

  • A reception in recognition of the International Section’s 25th Anniversary to be held on Tuesday, May 14 at the Harvard Club;
  • A full-day CLE program on May 14, designed for attorneys in the early stages of their career, as well as for more experienced practitioners who seek to enrich their understanding of international law entitled, “Fundamentals of International Practice”;
  • Other programs such as, “The Ethics of International Practice”, “Cross-Border Litigation and Dispute Resolution”, “Dispute Resolution in International Financial Transactions”, “Recent US Regulatory Developments for Foreign Financial Institutions: FATCA, OFAC and the FCPA”, “The Role of the New York Courts in International Disputes”;
  • The concluding plenary session, “Developing International Commercial Law: The Next Challenges and Opportunities,” featuring Keith Loken, Assistant Legal Advisor to the Secretary of State for Private International Law, on Friday, May 17.
